Blackfoot Daisy
(Melampodium leucanthum)
Native Perennial

Round and low to the ground with continuous flowering from Spring through Summer, the Blackfoot Daisy is a great native perennial. A lot of the times the Blackfoot Daisy can be mistaken as a white Zinnia as they look almost identical. The flowers produced consist of 8 to 10 elegant white petals all surrounding a bright yellow disk in the center. Blackfoot Daisies make a great plant to use as ground cover that will be able to withstand the Alabama heat.

HOW TO PLANT

FIND A LOCATION -  Blackfoot Daisies will thrive in both full and partial sunlight.  The location should be well drained.
PLANT IT - One of the most simple plants to plant, simply take a "plug" out of the ground. The hole that you plugged should be as deep as the plant container is tall.  Drop your Blackfoot Daisy in the ground and cover back up with dirt.
WATER IT IN - After you plant your new perennial you will need to water them in.  They will need water once week until they start to sprout.
ENJOY - Simplicity turns into beauty. The Blackfoot Daisy  that you plant will sure to be an eye catcher come the Spring.

**Growing Tip**
Blackfoot Daisies make a great ground cover that also give you the bright with flower color.
