The Most Beautiful Flower

Always brilliant, full of life and a joy to see. Each time you see this flower, you light up in happiness. It’s a flower that is always etched in your mind. This flower is by far the most beautiful flower known to mankind… Mom.
Most weeks I am writing about flowers, vegetables and landscapes but today on the Friday leading up to Mother’s Day I feel the need to write about Mom. Growing up all the way to today I am what many would probably call a Momma’s Boy and I have no problem with that label. She instilled hard work, determination, common sense, love, honesty, and many more values into me. All of which I am and always will be eternally grateful for. For every stupid boneheaded decision I made growing up, I could always count on Mom to give me tough love but love nonetheless.
When you think of your garden you can always find similarities to Mom. Like a beautiful flower in any garden she is able to withstand the storms all the while putting a smile on your face. She is able to inspire you in new ways each and every day. Make sure you tell your Mom you love her whether it is face to face, on the phone or looking up into the Heavens not just today but every day. She is always with you and always your biggest supporter. Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

A twelve-year resident of Helena, Brian is actively involved in civic and faith based initiatives and is currently serving as Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Helena Beautification Board, Secretary of the Helena Elementary PTO, and a second term on the Riverchase Business Association Board of Directors, where his eye for design has help lead the Riverchase ARC.
